Year 12 students

An update before we start back after the holidays.

With regards your 2.1 & 2.4 coursework, you should have already handed in:
  • 2.1 perfromance session plan
  • Risk assessment x 2
  • Child protection policy
  • Coaching session plan (if you have started coaching)
  • Additionally, you should be videoing as many of your performances as possible along with confirming the group of students you will be coaching with a designated teacher who leads the club.
  • Notation introduction - an overview as to what your notation includes and justifications to your choice of notation template
  • First notation on yourself in your specific template
  • Technical introduction - identifying your 4 key skills and justifying why they are the key skills
You need to hand in via dropbox, before our next lesson:
  • Training anlaysis introduction - with your fitness test results along with the skill you will be working on based on your notation
  • Movement analysis for each of the four key skills using the table we went through in the last lesson (on technical PowerPoint)
  • Tactical slide - how you and / or an elite performer would tactically use each of the key skills (4 slides in total)
We will be continuing to work at a quick rate to get the different elements completed.  If you do not stay on top of the specific hand in dates then you will struggle to complete the work to a suitable standard.
As it stands I do not seem to have any work in from either Kenny or Lewis via Dropbox.  Please rectify this by the lesson.

Refer back to the starter booklet for additional information.

Year 12 students

I am not going to be in your lesson on Tuesday, I apologise for this but will be back in on Wednesday.
From last lesson you should have completed your notation table for your main sport you will be taking practically along with finding an elite performer and completing a notation on them using the notation template you devised.
This MUST be brought with you as a hard copy to the lesson on Wednesday.
For Tuesday i would like you to jump back to unit 1 work.  Can you please complete the following:
  • Get a definition for what a lifetime sport is.
  • Give examples of 4 lifetime sports and justify your choices.
  • Draw up a simple table detailing the benefits of encouraging individuals to take part in lifetime sports, both for them as an individual but also for the country as a whole.
  • You should aim to come up with a minimum of ten benefits.

We will be ogoing through this at the beginning of Wendesdays lesson and then concentrating on unit 2 work.

Year 13 Students

I am not going to be in your lesson on Wednesday, could you please complete the following task.
We are now moving into the long term physiological aspects of the course. For part of this we have to look at long term adaptations / effects on the body which can occur when a performer takes part in a particular type of training.
An exemplar of this is below, looking at core stability. Can I ask you to please complete the empty resource for the following type of training I assign you.
Lisa - Continuous
A-L - Plyometric
Rayhaan - Weight/Circuit/Resistance
Conor - Fartlek
Bami - SAQ
Ensure this is completed and brought to the next lesson. Ideally can you complete electronically. If you have any problems with this please see me on Thursday as I will be back in school.

Year 12 students - Unit 2

As I will not be in your lesson on Wednesday I want you to make a start on your Unit 2 work, which will be handed in and discussed the following Tuesday.
The booklet below is an overview of what is required from you for your 2.1 and most of your 2.4 work.  For 2.1 you require to be assessed in two sports / roles and provide the necessary evidence via video and written work as to the level you are performing at through the course of this academic year.

We will discuss the paperwork requirements for this next week.  For this lesson i require you to start on the design of your notation table for your 2.4 work.  In the booklet is an exemplar of a notation.  I require you to devise your own notation for your main sport you will be assessed in 2.1 which gives as much data as possible.
E.g. from the notation can you split the data into success rate / unsuccessful per half?
Is the notation able to be completed by an independent person easily - is the criteria objective and not subjective?

When this is done & typed up it needs to go into your 2.4 dropbox folder.

Secondly,  complete a notation form that you made on an elite performer of your choice.

All work in electronically by Sunday morning.
